This project shows the duality of the nature of the human soul, and the importance of its manifestation for everyone. Masculine and feminine beginnings are combined in each person and their equal development have essential importance for mental health. According to Carl Gustav Jung, the anima and animus are the contra-sexual archetypes of the psyche, with the anima being in a man and animus in a woman.
For the embodiment of gender archetypes, we took the ancient Greek myth about Orpheus and Eurydice as a basis. Eurydice is the image of soul of Orpheus, which he is trying to save. Different symbols of gender and sexuality, references to the myth about Orpheus and parts of his life were used in the project.
To emphasize the idea, we have chosen the clothes by two Ukrainian designers - Rybalko and Polina Veller, which perfectly complement our vintage clothing and jewellery. Maryna Rybalko’s series "Outside of Time" reflects the contradictions of the new century, in which haute couture, prêt-a-porter and streetwear are all mixed. Polina Veller’s “Fleur de La Mort” collection is about human weaknesses and fears. The designer compared anger and aggression with brilliant edges that can destroy or inspire, be beautiful and terrible at the same time, depending on the environment.
